Description:

Participate in a community service project and improve your Spanish skills while living with an Argentine host family. Our programs give you a unique opportunity to learn about the people and culture of Argentina while contributing your time, talent and skills to a variety of volunteer activities.

Based on useful relations and contacts with different Foundations, and organizations Buenos Aires Centre offers opportunities for practical training and volunteer work where volunteers will have the opportunity to visit various projects and decide where they would most like to work.
Overview: Volunteers who join these projects have the option of combining Volunteer Work and Spanish Lessons. Volunteers taking Spanish classes must join the project for a minimum of 8 weeks or more. Spanish classes run for 4 hours daily. Courses include the teaching of useful phrases and words that you will encounter and on your Volunteer experience. It is highly recommended that you take advantage of the additional private Spanish classes included to ensure your enjoyment of the program, as well as to maximize your contribution to the children, adult, elderly people in need.

Field Conditions:

Living with a family is possible to acquire an enriching cultural experience and the valuable opportunity to practice Spanish. The family provides two home cooked meals daily.

Duration:

Minimum 8 up to 36 weeks. Start dates every Monday all year round. It is recommended that all volunteers arrive over the weekend.

Volunteers must be committed to volunteer work, interested in learning about the people and culture of Argentina, open, flexible and able to relate well to the community. These programs are open to World Wide participants. Skilled (doctors, psycologists, social workers, lawyers) and unskilled volunteers are welcome.

Age range:

For Legal, Social Work, Health and Other Projects for Community a minimum age of 18 is required, and volunteers must have completed secondary school.

These programs were born as a strategy to improve the living conditions of the people of the Buenos Aires Province. In 1999 an agreement was made with the Center of Investigation and Psychosomatic Assistance - Centro de Investigación y Asistencia Psicosomática (CIAPSI) giving them settings and professional teams to supervise the projects.

Mission:

Develop legal, psychological, medical, social, and educational strategies to create a better quality of life for the people. Considering health as a balance of the psychological, physical, and social.

Programa "Distribución de alimentos"

Mission: Helping to distribute food to Argentine organizations that offer help to the homeless, children, and elderly and homes, school soup kitchens, etc. Administrative clerk, distribution in warehouses, etc.

Living arrangement: Homestays

Fees will include: Two Meals and Housing in host family.Orientation/Training for Volunteer Work.

Language instruction (Group and private to prepare for volunteer work). Some Volunteer Works require Intermediate and Advanced levels.

Airport transfers. Cultural tours are provided.

Fees 2005 by 8 weeks USD 3,150 + USD 200 registration and reservation fees

We provide Volunteer placement assistance as a free service.

Fees do not include international travel. Volunteers must pay for lunch meals and transportation to the worksites.
